We're recruiting a Software Development Manager for a company that have a close working relationship with Microsoft's development team in Redmond as well as Steve Wozniak's Fusion-IO.

They're the technology arm of a global ecommerce group that were founded just over 20 years ago.

They develop and manage content for online casinos.

They're responsible for generating traffic of tens of thousands of users daily and multiple millions in financial transactions.

They’ve grown to 150 staff, 18 of which are based in the UK.

They’re hiring as they want to grow the team due to recent success; in the past 12 months they’ve increased turnover by 30%.

Agile software development

This company practice Agile Software Development using the Kanban methodology.

Their technology stack is engineered to be re-engineered - this means that they're actively and continuously improving every part of the system and carry no "legacy" codebase.

Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and technologies is what enables the push of new software and features to live environments multiple times each week.

This role will be 80% hands on, 20% hands off.

Working hours / remote option

The working hours are 37.5 hours and you can choose what time you start and finish within reason.

Required experience

  • Solid experience in an Agile development – practicing SCRUM or Kanban
  • Experience growing teams - driving recruitment and leading interviews with developers, onboarding new team members
  • Strong experience using software development tools such as JIRA or similar – for feature/backlog/sprint management
  • Experience managing remote teams, and distributed teams
  • Leading development teams to embrace modern development practices – test-driven development, CI/CD
  • Experience reporting to C-level on status and progress of development projects
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technology projects
