The company

A Teesside based Utilities company that employs over 100 staff and was established over 5 years ago is on the lookout for a Senior Manual Test Analysts.

They continue to win new customers and grow their business, so are looking to implement a new Test Analyst team within the existing tech team here in the North East.


What do they do?

They offer software tailored to water companies in the UK.

Some of their solutions include an instant quote tool and billing/revenue tool.


What will you be doing?

  • Gain a full working understanding of a broad range of bespoke software products which meet the challenging needs of our customers
  • Work closely with customer representatives and the development team to define appropriate acceptance criteria for each feature
  • Design and script an appropriate set of tests to exercise the features being developed such that successful tests indicate met acceptance criteria
  • Design and script tests to test non-functional aspects of the development
  • Plan, create and update automated test scripts
  • Execute manual and automated tests
  • Plan, monitor and report on test execution cycles
  • Provide detailed defect reports to the development team
  • Provide support for customers working through User Acceptance Testing
  • Triage feedback from customers and report to the development team
  • Provide end user support
  • Update user manuals and training documentation

  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight and to work as part of a team
  • Willingness, ability to self-learn and quickly adapt to new technologies, tools and working practises
  • Self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and committed to a career in testing

 

Tech stack

Below is a summary of the tech they currently work with.

You don’t need to have experience of everything as full training would be provided.
 

  • C# ASP.NET - looking to migrate to .NET Core
  • MS SQL - mix of Entity Framework and stored procedures
  • JavaScript - front end is all written in React (not expecting React experts but willingness to learn)
  • Agile - fully immersed
